Speaker: André Richter (queonext) and Eric Schümann (Uni Erfurt)

Online meeting: BBB room, University of Oldenburg

  • André Richter (queonext) will show us the VBG chatbot, based on MS Copilot. He will not only provide technical details on its implementation, but also exciting statistics on its use and an outlook on its further development.
  • Eric Schümann (University of Erfurt) will present the university chatbot. This uses its own Python stack (LangChain, Mistral). You will learn how its own crawler keeps the data up to date and what hurdles need to be overcome with regard to dates and bilingual content.

Two approaches that pursue the same goal: better service for website users!

Structured data — Make Google Happy

Speakers:  Eric Schümann (Uni Erfurt)

Language: German

Online meeting: BBB room Uni Oldenburg

More visibility, better user experience: practical knowledge from the University of Erfurt
How do you make content understandable for search engines and users alike? In this presentation, you will learn how structured data helps to make websites more visible and accessible. Using specific examples from the University of Erfurt, we will show you which markup formats have proven successful, what has already been implemented and what improvements are imminent.

A compact insight with practical benefits — from the basics to test procedures and tools.

The aim is to provide the information on our websites as systematically as possible so that search engines, for example, can analyze this information in the best possible way, which in turn increases our findability and the quality of search hits. At schema.org there are many ‘schemas’, i.e. defined formats for different types of information. We can also use these for ourselves.

This is also an important question for non-technical people: What kind of information can or should be provided in a ‘structured’ way, and how does this work in practice? What can be done, if anything, to better position your own offering here?
